Superbly engineered optical illusions, cutting edge lighting and the art of dance, music of Bach and mysterious movements all intertwined in a fascinating manner – we know we will leave no-one indifferent! Russell Maliphant founded his own company in 1996 and has created over 20 works to date collaborating closely with lighting designer Michael Hulls. He has also set works on companies such as Lyon Opera Ballet, George Piper Dances, Ricochet Dance Company, The Batsheva Ensemble and Nuremberg Ballet. Trained at the Royal Ballet School from the age of 16 Russell left to pursue a career in independent dance, working with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Michael Clark & Company, Laurie Booth and Rosemary Butcher, exploring a diverse range of techniques along the way (from ballet to contact improvisation, yoga, capoeira, tai chi and acrobatics). Russell has studied anatomy, physiology, bio-mechanics, and the Rolfing Method of Structural Integration (in which he maintains a private practice) and participated in a two year Yoga teachers training in 1994 - 1995. The representatives of Russell Maliphant’s group will held two workshops for dancers of Todes Studio in Azerbaijan. Tickets are available at our office for 20 000 manat.
