We (Olessia and Zaur Mamedov) would like to thank everyone who attended, participated in, and supported Baku Sunset - Novruz Bash & Mirvari Fundraiser 2009 event. The event took place at Revolution Rock Bar in Boston, MA on Friday March 20the, 2009 from 7pm to 2am.

The event was a celebration of Azerbaijani Novruz as well as a fundraiser for Mirvari International Foundation's charity project - You Made Me Smile (mirvari.org). This event brought together an extremely diverse crowd that included: Bostonian Azeris, Americans, lots of Western and Easter Europeans (Bostonian Germans, Irish, British, Pols, Albanians, Russians, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Scandinavians, etc.) as well as Turks and Iranians.

The event featured video presentations on Azerbaijan, raffling, full bar, food, lounge and dance music (Azeri national and Euro & Turkish House), entertainment (belly dancing and live percussionist to the beats of International Dance House music).

Novruz Bashirov - a representative from Mirvari International Foundation joined the event and made a great presentation on Novruz holiday in Azerbaijan and Mirvari's charity projects. Guests were very generous to donate to the cause and we were able to collect $3,600 for the You Made Me Smile charity project.

The event was attended by at least 250 guests and was partially sponsored by American Islamic Congress (aicongree.org) and raffling part was partially sponsored by Champion's Dance Studio (championsdancestudio.com). Europeans in Boston organization was also involved in advertising the event throughout European societies in Boston.

Overall, the event was a success and we received a great amount of positive response from almost every guest and people are asking to start doing these kinds of events on a regulare (at least monthly) basis. Olessia and I are currently working on yet another project that will be presented shortly by Baku Sunset.

Спасибо! Мы сейчас создали новый проект - Baku Sunset, который будет развивать ночную жизнь Бостона, знакомить всех с культурой и людьми Азербайджана, а также помогать собирать деньги для благотворительного проекта - Mirvari (mirvari.org).

FELICI, спасибо за комплемент. Я решил продолжить заниматься бальными танцами и это уже второй год, а также занимаюсь отдельно в спорт зале почти каждый день. Мне это помогло сбросить вес. Ну и конечно я стал следить за диетой, хотя не отказываю себе ни в чём. Просто всё в модерации.

Кстати, мне вчера предложили работу учителем в студии бальных танцев

We are hoping for Baku Sunset label to become widely recognizable and associated with high standard nightlife and events as well as a label, which strongly promotes charity. We look forward to an ever increasing fan base of Baku Sunset that will help to connect greater number of people and start bringing a new scene to Boston's nightlife.
