Carlito's Way Carlito Brigante, a former drug dealer trying to go straight. Carlito Brigante (Pacino) is a life-long criminal who finds himself with an unexpected second chance. In 1975, Carlito is released from prison after serving only 5 years of a 30-year sentence when his conviction is overturned on a technicality. He declares himself reformed, tired of life on the streets, and determined to fulfill his simple dream of buying into a rental car business in the Bahamas. Among those who find this conversion hard to believe are David Kleinfeld (Penn), Carlito's crooked attorney and childhood friend, and bodyguard Pachanga (Luis Guzman). Carlito rediscovers old flame Gail (Penelope Ann Miller) and seems ready to retire in peace, but old ways die hard, and old associates pull Carlito step by step back into a life he can't seem to shake.

Любовь может спасти человеку жизнь, а может погубить его. Ради любви человек способен на подвиг, но и на жутчайшее преступление. Короче говоря, биип она, эта любовь. Может быть, было бы лучше, если любви вообще бы не было на свете? Не знаю, нас же не спрашивают. Она есть, и с этим нельзя не считаться. В какой момент она появится, кого затянет в свои сладкие, но остро ранящие сети - неизвестно. Известно только одно: любовь всегда выигрывает. Во всех раундах. А люди проигрывают. Фраза "Любовь все победит" - не совсем верна. Надо говорить: "Любовь всех победит"... Первый раунд: любовь молодого парня по имени Октавио к жене своего брата-бандита. Любовь, не имеющая будущего. Потому что или брат убьет их обоих, или жена опомнится и прекратит это безумство. Итог - десять ноль в пользу любви. Второй раунд: любовь молодой и красивой женщины Валерии к своему телу (она работает фотомоделью), любовь состоятельного издателя Даниэля все к тому же телу Валерии и любовь Валерии к своей собачке Ричи. Двадцать ноль в пользу любви. Так всегда бывает, когда счастье поначалу кажется безоблачным - Даниэль ушел от семьи, купил для них с Валерией отдельную уютную квартирку, и они стали жить вместе... Так вот, безоблачность в самом начале обычно предполагает такие грозовые тучки, что никакой зонтик не поможет. Он и не помогает. Третий раунд: любовь профессионального киллера Эль Чиво (раньше он был повстанцем, отсидел много лет в тюрьме, а теперь подрабатывает заказными убийствами) к свой дочери, которую он оставил много-много лет назад, чтобы уйти сражаться, а также к собакам, которые теперь составляют весь смысл его существования (Эль Чиво живет, как бомж). Вот тут - черт его знает, кто победил. Потому что, с одной стороны, любовь Эль Чиво к дочке заставляет его бросить профессию киллера и не выполнить самый последний заказ (вместо этого он просто сводит жертву и его заказчика лицом к лицу в своем подвале). Но с другой стороны, любовь Эль Чиво к своим собакам приводит к гибели всех их. Просто так получилось. Потому что любовь - жестокая штука. Так что и здесь счет - десять три. Любовь всегда выигрывает. Она биип, эта любовь. "биип любовь" - хорошее кино. Кого-то раздражает явное "тарантиновское" пересечение параллельных сюжетных линий, - меня это не раздражает. Тем более, что этот ход придуман задолго до Тарантино, да и в кинематографе использовался сотни раз. Потом, какая разница, какие ходы там использованы? Главное - КАК это сделано. А это сделано очень и очень неплохо. "биип любовь" снята в духе чистого реализма. Кусочки жизни, эпизоды чьих-то судеб, которые не выдраны из контекста, а просто внимательно рассматриваются как под увеличительным стеклом. Снято это не так уж высокопрофессионально, но зато очень искренне, а я это считаю самым главным. Что хорошо, Иньярриту не считает себя умнее зрителей, поэтому не занимается морализаторством. Никакие заповеди нам в голову не вбиваются. Иньярриту как бы говорит: вот вам кусочки жизни, а уж вы сами решайте, какие выводы из всего этого делать. Единственная четкая мысль, которая вкладывается им в эту картину, как раз и является названием фильма. биип она, эта любовь. биип. Donnie Brasco Lefty Ruggiero, a low-level mafia hood. He takes a young man (Jonny Depp) under his wing and teaches him the ways of the mob without knowing he is an undercover agent for the FBI. This true story follows FBI agent Joe Pistone as he infiltrates the mafia of New York. Befriending Lefty Ruggiero, Pistone (under the name Donnie Brasco) is able to embed himself in a mafia faction lead by Sonny Black. Ruggiero and Pistone become tight as the group goes about collecting money for 'the bosses'. Eventually, the group become big time when Black himself becomes a boss, all the while Pistone collects evidence. However, the trials and tribulations of the undercover work become more than Pistone can bear. His marriage falls .rt and to top it off, the mafia suspect a mole in the organization. The real dilemma is afforded to Pistone, who knows if he walks away from the mafia, Ruggiero will be the one punished.

"Sea of Love" which got some good reviews, mostly about Pacino's great performence. Pacino was again nominated this time for his role in "Dick Tracy." Mostly because he did such a good job acting with all that make-up on. Once again Pacino returned to his role as Micheal Corleone in "The Godfather Part III." Pacino has now had a bit of a film streak. In 1992 and 1993, he gave his two great performances in "Scent of a Woman" and "Carlito's Way". He won his first OSCAR for his leading role in "Scent of a Woman". He's been starring in much more movies now. Like the obsessed cop in "Heat" trying to track down Robert De Niro. Playing the mayor in "City Hall." And writing and directing his own love letter to William Shakspere called "Looking for Richard". Pacino came out with some more movies in 1997. One starring Johnny Depp called "Donnie Brasco." his second in 1997 was "Devil's Advocate" with Keanu Reeves. We couldn't see Pacino in action in the year 1998. In the end of 1999, two pacino movies were released.
