But dont get too upset at these Turk's spreading garbage. They are just jealous that the poeple of Azarbaijan refer to themselves as Persian first, and then Turk. These Turks cannot stand seeing Iran with a larger land than that of theirs, Turkey. They are envious of the fact that both Azarbaijans have always been a part of Iran, always been an Iranian province, until Rusians devided them. These Turks are not blind to the truth, they see it very clarly and it kills them deep inside. I am a Azeri-Iranian.

I grew up in Tabriz.

When I was growing up, I would say that only my father's generation cared greatly about independence from "the persians".

My generation didn't care much. We just tried to blend into Iran with the Persians.

Now a days, I'd say 95% of Azeris consider themselves Iranian first and foremost.

Over 75% of Iran's population is under 30 years of age.

All those Azeris grew up not learning how to speak their ancestrial language and now only know Farsi.

There's alot of intermarriages between Azeris and Persians so there are no more pure persians or pure azeris.

An Azeri is the leader of Iran..

The Ayatollah Ali Khamanaei is Azeri.

Let me assure you...the people of "South Azerbaijan" don't want to be seperated from their "vatan", or homeland of Iran...

And do you expect the Iranian government to just stand by while part of its soverignty drifts off?

I think not.
